Eurasian Economic Union procedures to help alleviate Belarus-Russia food trade issues

Mechanisms of the Eurasian Economic Union are not used in full measure to resolve disputes concerning Belarusian food export to Russia. The statement was made by State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota on the sidelines of the expert and media forum held in Moscow on 22 November to discuss humanitarian partnership in the Union State, BelTA has learned.

The official said: We have not fully used the available mechanism for resolving various disputes.

Plans to reduce key interest rate in Belarus to 10% per annum in 2018

The central bank intends to reduce the refinancing rate to 10% per annum in 2018, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) Pavel Kallaur on the sidelines of the KEF 2017 conference Foundations of the Future on 2 November.

The National Bank's draft monetary management policy for 2018 expects the refinancing rate to be close to 10% per annum, said the official.


Hope for Belarus' stronger stance in international trade after WTO accession

I hope that the accession to the World Trade Organization will strengthen Belarus' positions in the international trade, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with a WTO delegation on 1 November, BelTA has learned.

Belarus' membership in the WTO will help fortify our positions in the international trade and enhance the business and investment attractiveness of Belarus, Andrei Kobyakov noted.
